Snow on October 12th!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's right, it snowed all day yesterday! It was about 35 degrees all day. Bounty loved the snow and went crazy in the yard.

Gracie's Noggin Update

As some of you know, we had a bit of a scare with Gracie last Friday. She went in for her 2 month shots and we discovered her head is not very big. She was in the 25th percentile last month and on Friday she had gone down to the 10th percentile even though she was in the 50th percentile for height and weight. She also had a questionable ridge and flattening in places so the doctor had x-rays done to make sure her “soft spots” were not closing prematurely which would restrict room for brain growth. After the x-rays were reviewed, our doctor referred Gracie to a pediatric neurologist for a CT-Scan. We saw the neurologist yesterday and she didn’t see the need for a CT-scan just yet, but did perform an ECG. Gracie slept through the entire 30 minute test! We should have those results back in two weeks. For now, we will keep a close eye on Gracie’s head size and have it measured every two weeks to check for growth. All other test the neurologist preformed on Gracie indicated she is doing great developmentally. I would say at this point, she is taking after her daddy as far as her little head goes! Sorry Annie, but clearly she is not taking after your big melon!

Annie, this one's for you!

Dave was out in the back yard building a fire and thought it would be a great time to burn up the old mattress we had lying around in the barn. When he went to pick up the mattress a little mouse ran out with a baby in her mouth. We saw two little baby mice she left behind. Dave thought to himself, “What would Annie do”? He guessed that she would have tried to save them, so he put on some ski gloves and got a box. His original plan was to “return her to the wild” in a nearby field, but when he lifted the mattress she ran right past him, and I was pretty sure she would not be coming back for her little hairless babies. I thought to myself how disappointed Annie would be that we tampered with nature and now these little baby mice would surly die! So we decided to sprinkle some Ritz crackers around the babies and hope the mama came back in the night. Happy to say that an hour later all babies and mama were gone. I like the think she came back and got them. So what would Annie have done???????
