Bye-bye soybeans....again

The girls loved riding on the combine today. It was a real adventure and they learned all about harvesting. We will all miss the soybeans. They are so beautiful out in our fields whether it's summer and they are all green or fall when they are brown.

Rosco the clown

Rosco came to Georgia's school today and I brought all the kids with me to see him. He reads with the kids, plays games, does some magic tricks and makes balloon animals. Gracie was stuck to my leg in fear pretty much the whole time right up to the end. Wyatt played quietly on the floor and my lap and Georgia was her usual friendly self and ended up being Rosco's little assistant for the show. This afternoon was a nice break from working on the house. Here's a few photos.

Our 4-day weekend

Even working until 11 PM at night, there is just never enough time in the day even with an extra day this weekend. Dave and I got all the floors, stairs, and 20 doors stained. We are sealing the floors and doors today and then the foors again tomorrow and probably again on Monday. Dave is working on sealing the slate floors in the bathrooms so our potties and sinks can get installed and hooked up Monday. We had the counters installed Friday, but still have to stain the cabinets this weekend. Our big covered porch has come in very handy for staining all the doors. Luckily we have had 75 degree weather too! We still have so much finish and touch up work to do, but it's coming together nicely.
