Snakes and Frogs and HUMIDITY...OH NO!!!!

Yes, it's humid. Really, really, really humid! We found a snake slithering around under the barn door and a bunch of frogs out in our new basement since it rained and we have water down there. The girls were not afraid of the snake at all! Even Gracie was touching it! Notice who was wearing gloves though....NOT the girls!!! LOL! To be fair, the snake was trying to bite Dave until we could grab it by its head so I don't blame him. Especilly since we don't know exactly what type of snake it is!

End of today's work

The new house update

The basement is poured and will be finished after we move in. The septic is done except a layer of dirt to be smoothed over it. The framers have been here since Friday and have completely framed the main floor (kitchen, laundry room, 1/2 bath, living room and our master bedroom/closet/bath)and the garage. Today they are putting up the trusses. From the photo you can see that our 2nd floor will be built directly inside of the trusses. I think they are also finishing the front part of thte roof of the wrap around porch. Upstairs will have 4 identical bedrooms and two back to back identical bathrooms. Our plan was to make that as "kid friendly" as possible. I am still begging Dave for a laundry shoot to make it "mom friendly"! I might get it if I cry hard enough! Next week the windows and doors go in, roofing goes on and finally it will get bricked. It's so exciting to walk around each night after the crew has left and see what they've accomplished.

Goodie basket

Whenever we go outside on a nice day, I pack my basket full of everything I might need so we only have to come back inside for the potty. I caught Gracie with her hand in it looking for extra cookies! It's been in the 90's yesterday today and unfortunately for the next couple of days. These are the days that I REALLY dream of being in our new cool house:) For now, I spend the afternoons sitting in a lawn chair with my feet soaking in the cold kiddie pool.

Summer time and wagon rides with grandma..

Attack of Wyatt

Dave has convinced the girls that Wyatt is biting them even though he doesn't have any teeth. He pinches them on their backs and they are SURE it must be Wyatt. This is the funniest thing I've ever seen!
