Christmas Morning

Poor Dave woke up at 6 this morning very sick and puking this morning. Strangly, this is exactly how last Christmas went! All was fine last night. He was even out until past dark clearing a bunch of trees out back. No signs of sickness. Then it hit him hard and fast this morning. He propped himself up in his recliner and was a good sport throughout present opening. He didn't move from the chair until about 4 PM. Needless to say, I didn't make my usual swedish pancake Christmas breakfast. The girls and I are all doing fine and aren't sick at all.

Gracie was the first up this morning and went nuts for the tree and presents. We didn't put any presents out until last night after the girls went to bed. We told them Santa was coming, but weren't sure if Georgia really understood...though she seemed very excited! Gracie just kept squatting down and jumping up with little squeels all morning. Georgia slept in an extra hour past Gracie and was equally thrilled with the presents Santa left, but was very good and didn't touch them until Grandma got here to opening them with us.

They were busy all day playing legos, Mr. Potato Head, Elmo and Dora. They also kept on PJ's (several pairs) all day too! Grandma read Elmo and Dora books to the girls. Those of you that know Georgia know she can't sit still for more than a minute so it's hard to get her to look at books. Gracie however, can sit in one place for hours when a book is involved! Georgia mostly sat on Grandma's back and ran in circles around here during story time:)

All in all, it was the best Christmas ever and Georgia would like to "do-again-mama". Dave is up eating chicken noodle soup and setting up my new espresso machine for me, so even he is feeling better. Enjoy the photos. There weren't many since the kids rarely sad still long enough for a shot.

Cousin Nancy's Christmas Party

Georgia was in love with Travis, Nancy's big dog and Gracie was crazy for the baby toy stroller. The girls had a ball staying up after bedtime to play at Nancy's.

Cookies and baby update

We have a little Christmas party to go to this afternoon so I made my first batch of real decorated Christmas cookies. They were tons of fun, but took forever! Dave was very helpful eating all the rejects:)

I had my 23 week doctor's appoiontment yesterday and baby boy is doing great. His heartrate was 140 bpm and he's getting bigger every week. We have one boy name we really like, but it's not set in stone yet. Hopefully we can come up with one before he's born!

We now have a boy's room and a girl's room in our house. We moved Gracie out of her room and into Georgia's 2 nights ago. It's going perfect and everyone is still sleeping 12+ hours! I'm so happy!!!!

Say "Cheese"!!!

Merry Christmas!! I got the girls to pose pretty well in front of our tree by distracting them and telling them over and over again to say "cheese". Hey, it worked and nobody cried!!!!

PT Trip Photos Day 4 - Grandma Nana's House

On day 4 of our trip, and our last full day, we went to Nana's house for a special Christmas lunch and gift exchange. All the cousins were there too so it was extra fun and busy. Every where we went, we had to set up a "snack station" for Sidda and Georgia. Those two eat all day! Nana has two new little kittens that the girls enjoyed trapping under the couch. They got out a flashlight and tortured those little kitties all day! That about sums up our trip. We flew out of Sea-Tac at noon on Monday and got home to our beds at a little after 11 PM. Gracie was very happy to see me this morning, but I think she was really enjoying being an only child while we were gone. She got spoiled by daddy and Grandma Betty, and now the big sister is back to claim all her toys. Thanks to all for such a fun trip. We can't wait to "do again", in the words of Georgia!!!!

PT Trip Photos Day 3 - Grandma Kathy's House

On Saturday, Grandma Kathy had us over for a big old fashioned pankcake breakfast complete with all the good fixin's. Yes, that's the make up kit again in most of the photos! Grandma Kathy took the girls on a walk down to see a real horse and they even got to feed it some grass. It was freezing out, but the little girls didn't seem to notice.

PT Trip Photos Day 2

Sidda got a makeup kit for Christmas and played with it non stop the whole trip. Georgia was her model and loved every minute. We had a nice family dinner at mom's Friday evening and did a mini Christmas gift exchange. Aunt Annie was a good sport and got stuck supervising the beauty sessions most of the time! Georgia and I also did "belly shots" so you can see how big "our babies" are getting. She also thinks she might have a baby boy in there. I am 22 weeks now and we're having a scheduled repeat c-section on April 11th! We can't wait!

Trip to Port Townsend Photos Day 1

We left our home in MI at 3:30 on Thursday afternoon and arrived 11 hours later in WA! It was a long trip but Georgia did awesome. No crying!!!!! I was very pleased. She was really happy to get to finally meet Aunt Annie and Grandma Laurie at the airport and is still asking to "do again". We spent most of Thursday downtown Port Townsend, eating out and having ice cream and buffalo rides at the Elevated. It was really fun. Georgia and Sidda got along well and preferred to hold hands most of the day. Sidda introduced her to dress up princess dresses and the two had a blast playing pretend.

grave blanket season

Once again, it was that time of the year. We finished our second year of making grave blankets for Betty's mom and dad, grandparents, aunt, uncle, and Ralph (7 total). They came out just beautiful and really cheer up the place. It was a lot of fun and of course Dave always enjoys taking the tractor out to gather the spruce branches. It sure is a huge project, but we are so lucky we can do it here rather than buy them. It means so much more to make them by hand for the family.

Bye bye soybeans!

We said goodbye to our soybeans on Sunday. It was finally dry enough to harvest them. I cannot believe how huge this combine was. Georgia kept wanting to ride it. She did actually give a soybean a little kiss goodbye. She sure loved to pick them on our walks.

Kreet, Kreet, Kreet!!!!!

We had my friend Jill and her husband, parents and kids over for trick-or-treating "country style". Dave hitched up the wagon and tractor and with a few bails of straw we were ready to ride. It was lots of fun. The kids had a blast, and it didn't even rain. It took about 2 houses for the girls to realize that somebody would give them candy at every door they knocked on. We are really out here in the sticks so people are happy to have even one trick-or-treate on Halloween. Most of them actually waited for us outside on their porches or flagged us down to make sure we didn't pass them by. I guess it helped that they could probably hear the tractor coming from a mile away!

Wrap a mummy game

Dave and Georgia got 2nd place for this game. Georgia was a very good little mummy. She won all kinds of candy. I'm not exactly sure how much she ate since everyone was giving it to her. We were at the party for about an hour and then she threw up all over Dave. From the looks of it, she had eaten a lot of orange candy! Poor thing. We left the party right away and she's been sick every since. She must have had a little bug or something. If I ask her how she's feeling, she says, "Gi-Gi feel better now". That's the same thing she said right after she threw up on Dave! Gracie did well at the party too but mostly hung out at the play kitchen cooking up handfulls of candy.
